'Raise achievement with U-educates learning mentors!'
What is a learning mentor?
Learning Mentors’ main aims are to work with underachieving students to help them with specific subjects.
A good learning mentor will work in 1-to-1 sessions with individual students in order to create a rapport with them. They will guide and motivate students to raise their academic performances and improve exam/assessment scores.
Mentors can also focus their work towards SEN and SEMH students to try and improve their behaviour, and eventually aid them to be back in a classroom environment.
Characteristics of a good learning mentor:
- Patience
- Good motivator
- Welcoming
- Active listener
- Liaise with parents and teachers
